What happens (and should happen):

There is an option in the configuration file to list blocks that the prospecting pickaxe should ignore, it may be worthwhile to use a block tag for this purpose so that modded blocks can be included by mods and datapack creators.

Additional notes:

The same may apply to the fallback materials option, though I'm not sure to what extent it should be handled this way.
