The automatic deployment of the glider when above updrafts is at best annoying, and at worst results in death.

The first time I entered the Nether, I wasn't aware of this feature. As a result, I manually activated the glider a few ticks after it automatically activated, causing it to be disabled again, sending me directly into lava.

From then on, I figured I would simply not manually activate it when going above lava. Unfortunately, something went wrong and it ended up not automatically activating, sending me into lava for the second time.

The third time the glider activated with a significant delay, which caused me to - in a panic - manually activate the glider... a few ticks after the delayed automatic activation, sending me into lava for the third time...
