I cannot change any options without them being reset upon quitting a world and restarting my game.
Difficulty locking options are also useless since they're also affected by this as well.

also having this issue! pls fix it as the mod just doesn't work :/

What version of the mod are you using? There is a config option in the supported versions to save the current world state of gamerules and difficulty settings to config.

There is a config named "save_gamerules" that saves the current game rules to file on world unload. There is also setting to set and save difficulty changes.

 The config file is only saved if any game rule is changed or the difficulty is changed with the setting enabled.
 If there is a "globalgamerules-common-1.toml.bak" file it means that the format of the file was invalid from your modification.

The supported versions of the mod are for MC 1.19, 1.18, and 1.16.
