I've seen the little video, emptied inventory/bar, and tried many times to shift-click. Even removed mouse tweaks.
Can't get a crate open for anything.

Hold the crate in your hand, look at the sky (like when you are eating you don't want to try beating a block with your food instead of eating it) then hold shift and right click. This will open the crate
