I want to begin by saying the I adore this mod. It is so much fun to get around with the various hooks and items.

We eventually decided to remove it from the pack because with mid-tier vanilla items, you could practically fly. Early flight, in any form, skips a lot of content that is naturally gated by mobility.

We are of the philosophy not to arbitrarily gate players by way of stages, so we rely heavily on manual configs to mods to balance progression.

If there was a way to limit the 'near infinite' range, incredible speed and the swimming bug, I'd love to bring these back. At the very least, the mechanic and smart hooks need to be made more expensive for the mobility they heard you with. (Lower dura? "Ammo"?)

Farther along, I would love to see the speed/range/physics as they are now as a 'max tier' - range, pull speed, etc. could be anvil'd in as upgrades or modifiers, with progressively more expensive cost.

Take my opinions with a mountain of salt. I enjoy the hell out of this mod on its current form, it just breaks our pack balance. :(

Fixed in v11 with a new customization system and config file. I think it's pretty balanced now by default, especially when you consider the grappling hook is only really useful if the terrain supports it (it's pretty useless in most places without large hills or mountains) and minecraft isn't balanced around mobility. If you still want to balance it, there is the config file and you can use a mod to change the crafting recipes for the upgrades.
