Sliding enchantment maintains momentum while sneaking off the edge of a block

(I'm playing with Grapple mod v12, on 1.16.5)
When I use the Sliding enchantment and slide until I'm sneaking on the corner of a block, my character slows down, and I don't fall off. However, if I stop sneaking too early, I get launched off the corner of the block and keep moving at my previous speed. The only way to slow down when Sliding is by waiting for my momentum to decrease on its own.
