Creature Guide

Hey, I worked on the Creature Guide to try and make it up to date with the new changes and overall more consistent. I also added Triton & Tritoness, Stymphalian, Scylla to it. Make sure to double check everything in case of any mistakes/typos if you plan to use it.


Ara
Neutral
24 HP, 2.5 attack
Spawn: Ara Tents and most biomes
Drops: Flint, flint knife
Description: Women cursed to have their hearts turn to flint. They wield flint knives and attack together.

Arachne
Miniboss
80 HP, 4.5 attack
Spawn: Marble dungeons underground
Drops: String, Golden String, Web Ball, Spider Banner Pattern, Silkstep enchantment
Description: The Spider Queen who was cursed by Athena long ago. Melee attack when the player is within 3 blocks and throws Web Balls when the player is 3 or more blocks away.

Arion
Passive
+30 HP average than horses
Spawn: By feeding a tamed horse an enchanted golden apple
Drops: Gold, leather
Description: A golden horse that is incredibly fast. Healed with gold items (see item tag arion_food)

Automaton
Passive to player, hostile to monsters
160 HP, 9.5 attack
Spawn: Place a bronze block on top of an ichor-infused gearbox
Drops: Copper, ichor-infused gears
Description: Friendly version of the Talos. Follows players that are holding a bronze ingot. Shoots an arrow storm or melee attacks

Baby Spider
Hostile
4 HP, 1 attack
Spawn: When a Web Ball is thrown. 40% chance by players and 100% by Arachne.
Drops: 50% chance for spider drops
Description: Mostly runs aimlessly. Deals a small amount of damage

Bronze Bull
Boss
230 HP, 8.5 attack
Spawn: 2x2 of copper blocks with 2 bronze blocks on the sides
Drops: Gold, ichor, ichor-infused gear (used for Hellenic armor which gives projectile immunity from the front)
Description: Fierce, fire-breathing, clockwork bull

Centaur
Neutral
34 HP, 4 attack
Spawn: Plains and taiga (66% chance of holding a bow and quiver)
Drops: Leather, arrows
Description: There are seven variants of the half-men, half-horse. They will give you quest items in exchange for blank paper or other quest items

Cerastes
Hostile
24 HP, 1 attack
Spawn: Desert
Drops: horn (for Ambrosia), snake fang (for poison-tipped arrows)
Description: Horned vipers that can be tamed with rabbit meat. Hides in the sand so only its horns are visible. Attacks anything that touches it and applies the poison effect.

Cerberus
Boss

Spawn: When an Orthus head is dropped into a 2x2 of lava surrounded by a 4x4 of blackstone (see block tag valid_cerberus_frame)
Drops: Cerberus head, avernal hide ( for the Helm of Darkness)
Description: The three-headed hound of the underworld. It can breath fire and summon temporary Orthus. Its head can be worn over the player's head.

Charybdis
Boss
180 HP, 4.5 attack
Spawn: when feeding a Heart of the Sea to a Whirl
Drops: Treasure chest loot, conch (for the Bag of Wind)
Description: Whirlpool monster of the deep sea. Attracts and swirls any nearby creatures that are in the water. Players in boats are not affected. Throws nearby creatures upward and damages boats.

Circe
Miniboss

Spawn: 2% chance to replace a witch that is spawned (adjustable in config)
Drops: Witch drops, swine wand
Description: Sorcerer that can turn biped creatures into pigs (see config setting swine_entity_whitelist). Casts a swine spell every 4.5 seconds

Cyclopes
Hostile
36 HP, 6 attack
Spawn: Mountain areas. Have a chance to a wield wooden or stone club
Drops: Bronze nuggets, clubs
Description: One-eyed monsters that are slightly bigger than the player. Hits the player with high knockback. Runs away from creatures that are named "Nobody"

Cyprian
Hostile
22 HP, 4 attack
Spawn: Plains and taiga only at night (66% chance to wield a bow and quiver)
Drops: leather, arrows, horn (for Ambrosia)
Description: Bull-headed centaurs that come in seven variants. Hostile toward centaurs

Drakaina
Hostile
24 HP, 2.5 attack
Spawn: Overworld at night and nether
Drops: Snakeskin (for potion of mirroring and healing rod), snake fang (for poison arrows)
Description: Snake monsters that comes in three variants that deal different potion effects based on their color (Green applies poison, red applies fire, and brown applies hunger)

Dryad
Neutral until attacked or a tree the same type as the dryad is broken
30 HP, 3 attack
Spawn: Most overworld biomes
Drops: Saplings, leaves, sticks
Description: Spirits of the trees and protectors of nature. Come in seven variants and hide inside trees of its type. Flees from Satyrs. Right click them with plants or flowers to trade.

Drops: none
Description: Spirit of hope. If a player gives the Elpis a diamond, the player will receive ichor. Has the ability to fly

Empusa
Hostile
24 HP, 3 attack
Spawn: Most overworld biomes at night
Drops: Avernal wing (used to tame Orthus), vernal hair (for Cursed Bow, Bident, Greek Fire)
Description: Vampiric demon that Lifesteals (a particle beam that heals the empusa for 150% of the damage) when the player is within 6 blocks and in direct line of sight. Melee attacks when lifesteal is on cooldown.

Fury
Hostile
24 HP, 3.5 attack
Spawn: Nether
Drops: Avernal wing (used to tame Orthus), avernal shards (for Helm of Darkness)
Description: Imp-like harbringers of doom that can fly. When aggressive, its hair transforms into writhing black snakes. Shoots curses at the player. Curses apply a negative potion effect at random. Melee attack when Curse is on cooldown

Geryon
Boss
210 HP, 5 attack (Resists 60% of damage)
Spawn: When a cow is killed within 2 blocks of 3 placed down gigante heads (can't have blocks tagged as wither_immune in the area)
Drops: Bronze nugget, bronze ingot, ambrosia, iron club, horn of plenty
Description: Three-headed gigante whose only passion is his herd of Mad Cows. Geryon smashes its club to break blocks in front of it damaging nearby creatures and uses its horn to summon a Mad Cow that will attack the player. Hostile to players and iron golems.

Giant Boar
Miniboss
80 HP, 6 attack
Spawn: when a hoglin is given a poisonous potato outside of the nether (see item tag giant_boar_trigger)
Drops: porkchops, boar ear (for Wand of Circe and Curse of Circe Potion), boar tusk (used for Ivory Sword)
Description: Hoglin on steroids that hits the player with high knockback.

Gigante
Neutral
100 HP, 5.5 attack (Resists 40% of damage)
Spawn: Mountain areas and snowy plains
Drops: A Gigante head, which players can wear
Description: Five block tall giants that have a chance of spawning with either a wooden or stone club. Gigante hits have high knockback.

Golden Ram
Neutral
20 HP, 3 attack
Spawn: As a favor effect from Hera, or when dragons breath is fed to a yellow sheep
Drops: Sheep drops, horn (does not drop fleece when killed)
Description: Special sheep with the legendary golden fleece. When sheared, turns into a yellow sheep and drops Golden Fleece (used to make Totem of Undying)

Gorgon
Hostile
24 HP, 2 attack
Spawn: Most overworld biomes at night
Drops: Snakeskin (for the Staff of Healing), deadly fang (for poison tipped arrows and snakeskin armor), gorgon blood (drink)
Description: Cursed snake-women with terrifying features that can paralyze those that look directly at them temporarily with no ability to move, jump, or use items. They have a 95% chance to become a Medusa when struck by lightning. Medusa spawns with a bow, 84 HP, 4 attack, +8% move speed, and applies withering instead of paralysis when looked at.

Harpy
Hostile
24 HP, 3 attack
Spawn: Desert, harpy groves (also in the desert), and harpy nests in most biomes
Drops: Feathers, avernal feathers (for the Bag of Wind and Winged Sandals)
Description: half-bird, half-woman scourge of the skies that can fly, scratch players, and usually returns to its nest after a fight.

Hydra
Miniboss
Each head has 22 HP and 6 attack
Spawn: Desert and savanna biomes
Drops: Poison Spear, Poison Arrows
Description: Vicious many-headed snake. The only way to keep its heads from growing back is to burn them with fire items like Avernal Bow, Bow of Apollo, flint-and-steel, Flame or Fire Aspect weapon. The Hydra heals constantly as long as it has at least 1 head.

Lampad
Neutral until attacked or a tree the same type as the Lampad is broken
30 HP, 3 attack
Spawn: Nether
Drops: Saplings, leaves, sticks
Description: Spirits of the trees and protectors of nature in the Nether. Come in three variants and hide inside trees of its type. Right click them with a nether based plant or flower to trade.

Mad Cow
Hostile
10 HP, 1 attack
Spawn: Most overworld biomes, and when summoned by the Geryon
Drops: Beef, leather
Description: Identical to a regular cow except for the part where it tries to eat you and has deranged red eyes. Spends most of its time running aimlessly until it starves to death.

Makhai
(Hostile/Neutral)

Spawn: When a player enters combat and despawns within 14 seconds after combat ends
Drops: Nothing
Description: Spirit of war that can either help or hurt the player. The two-headed spirit has six arms that each wield a sword and attacks players with low favor with Ares or who are not on the same Team as the player that triggered its appearance

Minotaur
Hostile
24 HP, 3.5 attack
Spawn: Most overworld biomes at night
Drops: Leather, horn (for Ambrosia)
Description: Half-men, half bull creatures that charge toward the player when the player is more than 2.5 blocks away and in direct line of sight. The charge is preceded by 2 seconds of stomping (damage and knockback are multiplied by 250% during charging). If the minotaur charge is successful, the player is stunned and cannot move, jump, or use items. If the minotaur misses its charge attack, the minotaur is stunned for a short time. Melee attack when the charge is on cooldown

Naiad
Neutral, but hostile toward drowned zombies
24 HP, 3 attack (resists 40% of damage from undead creatures)
Spawn: Ocean and River
Drops: Cod, prismarine
Description: Gentle protectors of the rivers and oceans that sometimes hold tridents.

Nemean Lion
Miniboss
100 HP, 9 attack
Spawn: Lion Dens (desert) or when Ocelot with the Strength potion effect is hit by lightning
Drops: Nemean Lion Hide (prevents projectile damage from behind)
Description: Giant lion with arrow-proof hide that takes suffocating damage while being ridden by a player

Orthus
Hostile
24 HP, 4 attack
Spawn: Nether
Drops: Dog claw (for Sharpness enchantment), orthus head (to summon Cerberus)
Description: Two-headed dog from the underworld that can be tamed with avernal wing. It attacks using jumping melee and fire-breaths. Its four red eyes glow in the dark and its head can be worn on top of the player's head

Pegasus
Passive
Average +10 HP than a horse
Spawn: Mountains, sunflower fields, and flower forests
Drops: Horse drops, feathers
Description: Playful winged horse. Only players holding a golden bridle can attempt to ride and tame a pegasus

Python
Miniboss
70 HP, 4.5 attack
Spawn: Pyramid-shaped pits found half-buried in the jungle
Drops: Snakeskin (for Healing Rod and Potion of Mirroring)
Description: Huge, venomous snake of lore. This creature should really be called the Viper or the Cobra (because those are venomous; constrictors are not), but Python sounded cooler. It spits three balls of venom that apply poison to the player and melee attacks when venom spit is on cooldown

Satyr
Neutral
28 HP, 2.5 attack
Spawn: Satyr camps around a campfire
Drops: Wild rose, sweet berries, panflute
Description: Fun-loving goatmen of the forest that come in eight variants and have a chance of being a Shaman. Satyrs will go to, light, and dance around campfires while playing their panflute. This includes soul campfires. Satyrs will alert any nearby Shamans when they are attacked. The Satyr Shaman can play its panflute to summon 3 angry wolves

Scylla
Hostile
140 HP, 8 attack (applies poison effect)
Spawn: Using a Wand of Circe on an ocean nymph or a small chance when spawning a Charybdis
Drops: Dragon tooth, Scylla bone (for Dragon Tooth Rod), prismarine shard, water breathing potion (rare)
Description: Supernatural sea creature with multiple heads that poisons its prey

Shade
Hostile
12 HP, 0.1 attack
Spawn: In all biomes or any time a player dies, with about half of the player's experience
Drops: Stolen XP
Description: Spirit of the deceased. If the player has any experience, the Shade will steal up to 10 experience each attack. If the player has no experience, the Shade will apply a wither effect for 4 seconds. Loosely inspired by Hollow Knight

Siren
Hostile
24 HP, 3 attack
Spawn: Oceans
Drops: Pufferfish
Description: half-fish, half-woman who lure players in to eat them by singing. While charmed, players within 12 blocks are given the slow swim effect.. While charming, the Siren's attack damage is multiplied by 200%

Sparti
Passive/Hostile

Spawn: Using a Dragon Tooth on the ground
Drops: None
Description: Skeleton warriors who will defend you to their last breath. Sparti always spawn with an iron sword and will follow their owner to attack any mobs that iron golems would attack (their armor is cosmetic)

Stymphalian

10 HP, 2 attack
Spawn: Swamps
Drops: Bronze feather, feather, chicken
Description: Voracious bird with sharp feathers that devours humans.

Talos
Boss
260 HP, 10 attack (Resists 62% of damage)
Spawn: By placing a bronze block on top of a 3x2 of copper blocks
Drops: Copper ingot, arrows, Talos Heart (for Palladium), ichor_infused_gear, ichor (for Ambrosia, Thunderbolt, ichor-infused block)
Description: Brass automaton that exists only to destroy. Only moves when attacking players or other mobs. Shoots an arrow barrage for 4 seconds and then melee attacks when on cooldown.

Triton & Tritoness
Neutral, but hostile toward drowned zombies
30 HP, 3 attack
Spawn: Ocean villages
Drops: Prismarine shard, prismarine crystals
Description: half-fish, half-humans that swim in ocean villages. Triton use melee attacks and Tritoness throw tridents.

Unicorn
Passive
Average +28 HP than a horse
Spawn: Sunflower fields and flower forests
Drops: Unicorn horn (heals and cleanses potion effects)
Description: Magical horse with a single white horn immune to all negative potion effects. Runs away from players who are not sneaking. Only players holding a golden bridle can attempt to ride and tame a unicorn

Whirl

Spawn: Oceans

Description: Mystical water spirit that attracts and eats dropped items within 9 blocks. Feed it a Heart of the Sea to summon the Charybdis
