Some ideas for the mod!

I loved this one so much I had to create an account to make a few suggestions. (keep in mind my knowledge of mod development is close to none, so srry if some of those may seem strange or if they are already implemented as favors idk them all)

I'd love to have a way to keep track of what exactly are the favors (or at least the default favors) of each deity. It could be done via mirror or another specialized item/book and it could contain the items you can make at certain levels (like the apollo/artemis' bow).

You are soooo close to having the full set of the 12 labours of heracles. It could be an achievement or a way to gain great favor from hera (or heracles if you add him as a deity). I have some ideas for the missing labours:
- The Ceryneian Hind: It could be similar to ocelots/unicorns, really fast and will flee players it detects. It could be approached while sneaking or under the effect of invisibility if you want to make it a challenge. Also a mob that the golden bridle will help to capture, but maybe working as a lead. Capturing it could grant favor with hera and maybe another buff and if you kill it you loose a lot of favor with Artemis
- Mares of Diomedes: Mad cow but make it a horse. Could be a summonable event that spawns a raid of the carnivorous horses. Idk about good drops for it tho.
- Belt of Hippolyta: Amazons would be a great addition to the game, they could spawn in islands and archipelagus wield spears and/or bows, attack you if you have low favor with Ares (I thought of they being hostile towards male players but idk how that would work). Hippolyta herself could be a miniboss spawning in some type of structure and defeating her would grant you a belt to use as a strenght buff.
- Stymphalian birds: Adding them in olive biomes would be cool. They could attack throwing the feathers and they could be a consumable drop for launching. As an exclusive "Athena favor" there's the rattle that she used to scare them off, used as a stun device for the birds when held or used.
- Cretan Bull: Could be a miniboss and maybe a summonable one with the horns of his children (minotaurs). It could be defeatable by fighting but i really think about it as a bull riding lol, like when you try to tame horses but it gives you damage and you have to get a way to survive it before it despawns.
- Golden Apples and Augean stables: I unfortunately don't have ideas to this one, the first could be just givin the apple of discord to the hera altar and the second augean stables could be a structure you have to just painfully clean (yeah thats unfun but they're called the 12 labours not the 12 joyrides). -
Argos: Could be an exclusive boss/miniboss if you lost a lot of favor with Hera with a ridiculous area to detect players. I don't know about drops because it's technically a punishment but something peacock related or even a peacock to sacrifice for hera and regain lost favor.
Hey yo I'm not a programmer, or an ancient Greece expert but I like the mod concept and I have some thoughts. Please excuse any ideas that are just beyond the capabilities of what you can actually program:
Altar requirements:
- It would be more interesting to have alter requirements for a deity, like blocks in proximity to the altar, outside or inside, y-level, materials type, a number of a specific passive mob, or plants etc. (oh also item states could be relevant: lit or unlit candles for example) It seems like to me there's a lot of emphasis on maintaining temples and altars in specific ways for ancient Greek deities. For example Hestia's wiki article describes a huge importance of maintaining hearth fires in her temple and lighting and relighting ceremonies.
- Having the right altar setup could give the player a boost in their favor gain, and not having an altar setup right would boost the favor lost. or maybe some other kind of reward/consequence.
- You could have steeper requirements for more 'big ego' gods. Like Hestia's happy with an indoor fire but Zeus needs lots of marble columns and like... a gold floor or something.
- You could have like multiple options too like Athena likes a library but she is also happy with a smithy nearby.
- A new item could be added: "Offering Bowl" where you could place offerings (like food or wine etc.). Mostly just for more visual interest than functionality the right click to offer works its just less fun. They would disappear over time from the bowel?
- The altar statues could start out less well equipped and it could be the players job to give the statue the right items like bows or helmets.
More ritualistic favor gains:
- I like how the current set of favors works, I would like to suggest adding favors that are more intentional and ceremonial.
- You could have a function where sacrificing/feeding/breeding a mob in proximity of the altar gains a favor. It could have requirements that that happen at night or in the day time. It could require special weapons or tools that you gained from your favor with that deity.
- burning or bathing specific items near the altar.
- This maybe like waaay too crazy but, feasts/festivals? You could invite the Ara or Satyr or Villagers etc. Rather than trying to program the normal spawned AI though it'd probably make more sense to just spawn special versions in response to the "invitation" that have their own modified rules? It'd be the players job to provide the right objects (food, decorations) and also maintain the safety of the guests (failure if mobs antagonistic to the guests appear).
Edit: Also funny idea for a Hestia blessing: when your favors high a silent donkey follows you around and only hee haws at creepers, scaring them away.

- 3-axis rotations for Items in hands(would allow for Swords/Trident to be inline with Arm, for example)
- Skin customization, via textBox or nameTag, linked to playerSkin(like playerHead)

Lots of good ideas, keep 'em coming! Uni classes have started again so I will have very little time to work on the mod between now and the end of the year. At least I'll have plenty to do when the time comes!
(PS: "Skin customization, via nameTag, linked to playerSkin" is already a feature, albeit a little buggy)
