As there are pumps, robot arms, conveyors etc, maybe there could be another one of those basically being a pump and a robot arm together pushing and pulling both items and fluids. It could have either 2 filters inside the over (for items/fluids) or a new filter accepting both items and fluids. Also it could help with autocrafting (Dual interfaces, etc) or with passiving resources. A name suggestion is "RoboPump", its a neither good nor bad name.

This would be pretty nice for really compact setups. Right now machines can output both items and fluid from a single side but can only input either which is kinda meh
