This is for my own purely aesthetic niche (or maybe not) need, and I guess this one screenshot is enough to explain the thing this request is all about.

And if the slot is taken, non-consumables goes to the left as a fallback.

they are technically the same sort of slots, just with different overlays, there's no way to distinguish them under this scenario
but yeah it's possible to move the overlay to the first slot
