Various issues and suggestions with the LFTR, FFPP, and associated chemistry chains

Expected Behavior

LFTR and it's fuel chains should work properly

Current Behavior

  1. I could not get the LFTR to run. It does not say "incomplete structure" and it has fuel (tested all three salts with Li2BeF4), but it does not consume fuel or helium/fluorine, or produce power or byproducts. I have tried malleting the controller as well as adding a input bus with various programmed circuits with no success. It has all the hatches that the controller wants. My log file says something about "Fission Fuel Production Plant Formed" despite not having used it at all when testing this, maybe that is related. The LFTR also forms with hatches it shouldn't, like an energy hatch.

  2. The fission fuel processing plant works without energy. The scanner used to report the recipes to all use -500 eu/t with regardless of dynamo hatch installed, however after an update it no longer reports eu/t?

  3. In my opinion, the fission fuel processing plant produces too much pollution. The tooltip says 2000 per second which means that running a single recipe with no overclocking produces 7,200,000 pollution. People will have to put it far from their base or in another dimension. And the scanner reports 4000 per second which is even worse.

  4. The fission fuel processing plant requires an output bus and two output hatches to form, despite needing only one fluid output and no item output.

  5. The recipe for beryllium fluoride seems to net/dupe ammonia and industrial strength hydrofluoric acid. By my math it should produce no more than 833.33 ammonia and 1666.66 industrial HF, or the process produces more of these than it consumes.

  6. Turning Lithium 7 into Sulfuric Lithium mix and then dehydrating loses some Lithium 7 but produces a bunch of other dusts out of thin air. Suggestion: remove recipe lithium 7 -> sulfuric lithium mix.

  7. Literally nobody will know that you can make Lithium 7 cheaper by lasering lithium plates instead of lithium dust, unless it is documented somewhere (maybe the fission fuel processing book?). Nobody checks the double plate when trying to find how to get something lmao.

  8. Lithium fluoride dust and Zirconium tetrafluoride dusts are craftable, but there is no recipe either to smelt the dust into an ingot or to fluid extract the dust directly, so the needed liquid form is unobtainable - #371

  9. Thorium tetrafluoride seems totally uncraftable, even the dust form (unless it is a direct byproduct from the lftr?). Judging from its centrifuge recipe it should be 4000 fluorine or 3200 industrial HF + 1 Th-232 dust = 720 Thorium Tetrafluoride. It also needs a dust to ingot/fluid recipe.

  10. Recipes for producing and breaking down Uranium Tetrafluoride do not line up. In my opinion it should not require U235, only U233 (since the point is to breed from thorium right?). Judging by its centrifuge recipe it should be 4000 fluorine or 3200 industrial HF + 1 U-233 dust = 720 Uranium Tetrafluoride, although this may be too cheap for balance. Otherwise the centrifuge recipe should be changed.

  11. The fission fuel processing plant's structure is correctly stated on its tooltip, but not in the manual book (minor)

  12. The fission fuel processing plant's gui is missing texture (minor)

  13. The recipes in the LFTR do not appear in nei like I think they used to in older versions. Not really a bug but it would be nice to have. Having the byproducts from fluorine/helium in NEI would also be very useful.

edit: 14. oh, one more thing. Needing a ZPM muffler for the FFPP is a little excessive for the tier, I think a LuV requirement would be better.

edit2: I missed one, zirconium tetrafluoride production/centrifuge also doesn't line up, leads to a zirconium loss + fluorine dupe

Possible Solution

fix the ones you see as problems

Game Environment

Include as many relevant details about the game environment or modpack you experienced the bug in/on.

GT++ version 1.7.02.09

If you are using a Modpack:

  • Modpack Name: GT New Horizons
  • Version used: 2.0.4.9

Misc Info

Check all that apply ([ ] -> [x] - use a lowercase x)

Using the beta shipped with gt New Horizons 2.0.6.8 gt++ 1.7.02.89. the lftr still does not function. or give any indications why it does not function.
