The Machine Cover plates (the ones you get by cutting up the machine hull) prevent EIO fluid and item conduits from extracting fluids from machines. I tested this with a massfab and an EV machine cover plate, and after attaching it, I could no longer extract fluids with the fluid conduit. I haven't tested any other machines or extraction methods, but there seems to be an interaction there.

It would be good if those could let you still access the machines with conduits, pipes and interfaces, otherwise trying to dress up my machines as different ones becomes kind of moot if they will no longer work with some of the most commonly used methods of automation.

They are similar to regular plates and foils in that regard, so I'm not sure if this is intended behavior. If it is, close this and we will never speak of it again.
