Feature Description
Reference: Friedel-Crafts reaction
Nowadays a lot of substituted benzenes are produced by Friedel-Crafts reaction, which uses benzenes w/o substitution and alkenes (ethylene), alkyl halides (like CH3Cl) or acyl chlorides, together with a kind of Lewis acid like aluminium chloride (AlCl3) or acidic zeolite as catalyst.
I think it's a good idea to implement Friedel-Crafts reaction in GTM, since sometimes we have more benzene and chloromethane and less toluene and dimethylbenzene, or we have more benzene and ethylene and less styrene. If Friedel-Crafts reactions are implemented, we will have more production ways, and material shortage can be relieved.
Example:
Ethylene + benzene → ethylbenzene (zeolite dust as catalyst)
Benzene + chloromethane → methylbenzene (AlCl3 as catalyst)
Benzene + 2 * chloromethane → dimethylbenzene (AlCl3 as catalyst)
Benzene + dimethylbenzene → 2 * methylbenzene (AlCl3 as catalyst)
