A vanilla book or book and quill renders in your hand (in 3rd person) as a small item, pretty much horizontally. A book from guide API renders more like a tool, it renders as a large item more or less vertically in your hand. Obviously there isn't anything fundamentally wrong with this considering many vanilla items render this way, but considering the vanilla books don't, it's inconsistent. It's probably a quick fix in the JSON files.
