It appears that it's not specifically linked to HEI 4.29.2, as I get the same crash on HEI 4.28.1 (before any autocrafting was added).

Additionally, upon reviewing the code of Modular Magic, I found that the erroring behavior could be fixed by installing ThaumicJEI (and adding it to that mod list causes an immediate fix). Does this work for you?

Thanks, installing ThaumicJEI does prevent crashing, which is an unexpected solution for modpack authors.

Since it can be fixed by external mods, I think this issue can be closed.

I'm not able to replicate this issue with a modpack that has only Modular Magic, Modular Machinery, Thaumcraft, (Baubles), and HEI installed. Could you provide either a link to the modpack you installed 4.29.2 on or give a reproducible list of the minimal mod list required?
