Not sure this has ever been reported, however in my experience in using this mod for years now, players who use resource packs and no vanilla resources, no longer have darkness it seems to go back to the default lighting. I am not 100% how it is caused I just know if players are no using vanilla resources they can bypass the hardcore darkness.
