Here is my idea, rather than a permanent ban add an option that only bans the player temporally, time would be configurable, upon death:

1. The players's questing progress would be reset, again it would be configurable.
2. The player's inventory would be wiped, could be configurable.

Would be nice to leave a custom command, for servers. Player Command or Server Command. like /island remove. or /island remove @p
