(Suggestion/question) Possible bomb overhaul?

Hey! I'm a big fan of this mod and I absolutely respect and adore all the work being put into it!

With all the new reactor elements and features being implemented, I was just wondering if there was any major overhaul to the bombs planned?

They've been somewhat left stagnant after the final update to the balefire bomb and the mini nukes, and I think it'd be cool if after the reactor and new extra hard mode is complete that maybe the bomb aspect of the mod could get some more love? especially the beta stage multi-block bomb system that was added semi-recently!

Id love to see it, if it isn't too much work or not in the books!

Keep up the great work! and I cant wait to see what's next either way!

There's currently no major plans regarding the bombs, but I've been thinking about redoing some of the models and textures of both the bombs and the GUIs similar to what we did with Little Boy about a year ago. Two related things I've been looking into are an even faster blast algorithm (test_bomb_advanced already uses it for testing purposes) and a particle-based animation that simulates convection for the mushroom cloud (which will have to wait since I've already remade the animations earlier this year).

The custom nuke however will most likely see a rework regarding to what items can be used in it, since the current list isn't very balanced and quite incomplete since the recent inclusion of a lot of new fissile isotopes. Alternate bomb parts for regular nukes (say for example an americium core for implosion-type bombs) aren't out of the question either.

Sounds really cool! I'm excited to see the modular aspect of the current non-custom nukes like the americium core! maybe even flash gold, balefire or digamma modifications for the custom nuke or others?

I'm wondering if it would be possible to decrease the insta death zone and crater size to a smaller area around the bomb and have a traveling pressure wave deal damage around the bomb, like the Hbombs mod for gmod. Or are you thinking more like a simple aesthetics overhaul?
