As of this writing, the current latest version of Kotlin is 1.5.20. HotM is already being compiled against this version. However, HotM only specifies a dependency on Kotlin 1.4.0 in its fabric.mod.json file. This should be updated to prevent invalid Kotlin versions being used in the wild.
