Stone and other blocks with similar hardness don't function as expected

Using a pickaxe to break a stone block with ANY pick is like breaking with your hands. It takes forever to actually break and does not drop cobblestone upon breaking. Attempted with a few other blocks such as crystal ore and anvil. All with the same result. No other mods were installed at all except Hearth Well. This issue is not present in the 2.0 version of Hearth Well.
Versions:
Minecraft: 1.18.2
Forge: 40.1.84 (also attempted on the "recommended" version of 40.0.0 with the same result.)
Hearth Well: 2.1.0
I can confirm I am having the same issue with the same verisons. It does not happen if I use the 2.0 version of hearthwell.
An update: I removed everything but the crystal ores from that file in the compiled .jar and the tag works again. It's something other than those.
