Discovered by accident on VolcanoBlock modpack.. I put a heat block far from my main base because of the warning, so I stuck it to the top of my nether portal since I thought it would be good place to activate. Turns out, it is able to destroy part of the nether portal and leave the rest activated! I assume this isn't intentional?
