Stack of item "dissappear" when dropped in the smeltery

Describe your issue
When multiples of the same item are dropped in the smeltery, they "dissappear". When the item smelt, you only get the quantity for one of this item and not the stack you dropped, however if you try to get it back from the smeltery controller (with left click), you get all your stack back. If you left click on the item in the smeltery controller, you only get half your stack + 1.
