For devs looking into this: apparently it's an interop issue? In case it helps, here's the modlist this first happened on, if I can get more detailed I'll add a minimal list with and without the issue later:

EDIT: bug originates in Patchouli, disappeared for me after rolling back to Patchouli-1.18.2-70-FABRIC. Reported by Lemma in VazkiiMods/Patchouli#567
