The new stack display makes it hard to see the patterns

First of all, let me say that the new display is undoubtedly useful for a lot of people. It's absolutely more readable overtop the patterns now than it was before. However, the consequence of it being more readable is that the hexes below it become less readable. I find it incredibly difficult to see what I'm drawing in 1.0 when the stack list gets too tall, which is aggravated by the fact that lists wrap now, which means that if I load in a spell from a focus half of my screen instantly becomes unusable. I would really appreciate it if there was an option to disable the background and wrapping of the stack, to return it to the way that it looked before. I never had problems reading the words on the stack personally, and it was a lot easier for me to parse. I doubt this is an issue for everyone, but I'm also sure that it affects others than me.

Additionally, it would be nice to have an option to disable patterns written in Intro/Retro displaying as you write them. It doesn't provide much value to me (I would much rather read the screen that is being obscured :( ), and I'm dubious about how many people can actually read the HexPattern(SOUTH aeoeau) syntax.

How's this? (I figure if you're working with lists that long, you are comfortable enough you can deal with not knowing what's in the end of them?)
