I propose an option so that, when a campfire is broken or extinguished, your spawn point goes back to your bed, so that any off-site camp doesn't cause issues with home, and makes campfires potentially more dangerous combined with the extinguishing option, since multiple respawns without re-lighting would have you return home.

I would love to see this implemented, because while I like the concept of spawning at campfires in general, having them totally replace beds and usurp your spawn point is a bit much for me.

Additional context
If the option to extinguish the campfire upon respawning is enabled, it should remove the campfire spawn and go back to your bed spawn, the same as if it was broken.
