The two mods work together (this and https://modrinth.com/mod/horseshoes), but only if you config disable the lead slot (and thus lose your great functionality of being able to lead a horse while being on it, as well as the lead staying in the slot when breaking.

I have no idea if it's possible or just something the user will have to make a trade-off for, but there's been an issue tracker on the Horseshoes page without answer for a while and am just posting this in case it's possible. As an aside I'd like to take the time to say thanks so much for this mod it's a great all-encompassing quality of life for horses ^^ ESPECIALLY the slow swimming.

Intended way for compatibility with Horseshoes is to disable lead slot and apply the Lead by sneak+using it on a horse. It will be indicated in UI that horse has a hitching lead.

Ohhhh, OK! So disabling the lead slot in the config doesn't remove the functionality it just has the alternate way of equipping it now? That sounds great, thanks for confirmation
