Modpack ATM 10 Version 2.6
Sometimes when killing mobs and the deep learner is in the curio slot, the kill counter can go up by any number, sometimes 1-5, 5-15, or even 50+ resetting your counter completely.
i get the same issue, but i've noticed that it doesn't seem to happen when i have the learner in my offhand. it only occurs when it's in the curio slot.
Playing ATM10 version 2.1. Having same issue, but also happens when i open the deep learner to remove the model (or possibly when i remove the deep learner from my curios slot). I will have to do more testing to work out which. But yes, often (always?) 1 kill out from updating phantoms or skulkers or something to next tier, only for current tier to be reset. Will need to do more testing to confirm is always 1 out. Not sure yet.
Not sure what would be causing this. It doesn't appear to happen in isolation with Curios API Continuation (the one I develop against). Possible this is a mod interaction issue with something in ATM10 or an issue with Adorned (the fork of curios that ATM uses).
Was this on a dedicated server or in singleplayer?
I am almost certain this is a curios issue to some degree. It does not happen with Curios API Continuation, but does happen with Adorned and also happens with mainline Curios.
A few people think this may be related to FTBTeam/FTB-Modpack-Issues#6642, which is a "reopening" of FTBTeam/FTB-Modpack-Issues#6183, a similar bug that the reporter closed without a resolution. Since it seems easy to replicate with the ender dragon model, in single player, you might want to take a look.
I included 3 log files: debug, latest, and console. No entries jumped out at me.

Since curios compilation has been "frozen" and the Adorned dev is no longer providing updates (JDKDigital/Adorned#16 (comment)), I believe the official Curios continuation is the recommended one. I would expect it to be used by most players going forward. (FTB Evolution 1.9.0 just transitioned.)
Its devs are claiming this (class of?) bug is entirely your problem (TheIllusiveC4/Curios#471). Have you considered getting in touch with them and hashing it out?
