Reinforced Stone cannot be broken with Mining Laser on Long-Range mode

In old IC2 (presumably way before the split into IC2E) it was possible to break reinforced stone with ML on long-range mode - the laser had power to break 2 reinforced blocks before dissipating.
This allowed, first, rebuilding capability (could fix placement mistakes quickly or rebuild) and, second, made reinforced stone not be ultimate protection, netting some unique builds (like obsidian-reinforce composite - since obsidian did and does shrug off laser fire).

Said unique build could be enhanced since reinforced glass doesn't block laser fire now at all, too.

Well the reason is because they are specially marked as Unbreakable blocks for the Mininglaser.
The question is. What should we do? Add a config or make them lasermineable? (Then people on servers could easy break them and they do no longer count as secure blocks...)

Erm, I vote we keep it that way and also make reinforced glass have the same properties, as they are supposed to be upgrades to obsidian and glass :P

My opinion ^-^

Well it was in code but did not work properly but now i did add OreDict support. As long it is defined as Glass in the OreDict then it will be laserProof and also lasers go through them

Noice, does it support micro parts though ?

It was breakable that way in the past and not many even knew of that - on a server with over a dozen players I was pretty much the first to learn of long-range mode being capable of breaking reinforced stone. Sadly I don't believe security through obscurity will work today due to how many youtubers are there.
I think that if someone wants a secure area, they should think how to go about it, not just cover it with end-all reinforced stone and be on their merry way. Either think by getting stronger blocks (GT/TR iridium reinforced/tungstensteel-iridium reinforced, warded/blockprotected, or even things bordering on being exploits), or by modifying protection itself, i.e. using composites (like the reinforced glass/obsidian composite I suggested above) or adding something to actively deter players like Ritual of Expulsion or a force field, or tesla coils.

An option would be nice. I love options and proper configurability.

P.S. Speaking of those exploits. Can you modify another mod's block's resistances? For example, ExU's obsidian glass/reinforced dark glass is completely nuke-proof when it shouldn't really be so, while Blue Power's reinforced sapphire glass is ignored by nuke explosions - they just go straight through.

Well i can not and want not support Microparts... So no...

I know we already support microparts hollow though :)

Since lasers are light, it could have "if block doesn't reduce light level, go right through". Might get several issues when "solid" blocks improperly allow light to pass, but would also support nearly all actually transparent ones.

(Laser going through reinforced glass isn't a complaint - it's a welcome and vast improvement over the old-IC2 where it just completely destroyed said glass instead.)

Yeah no problem. But could you answer the question with the reinforced block.
What do you think. Should they be broke with a Mininglaser? Because else someone with a Mininglaser could go into a secured area really fast... That would be my consern (maybe an option. Or only on servers it is not breakable with Mininglasers)

Actually no that does not work. Simply because that Extra Utils do not use normal methodes to define it. Even if they would it is a output only function so i could not change it. (thanks mc for that)
Closing anyways.
