@DBotThePony the solar panels are so much optimized that you can have a couple hundred without even causing a 0.1ms of lag.
And you know 64EU Panels still exist. So compression isn't lost. But the first thing people look at: How expensive is a HV Solar panel and then decide to use the branch or not.

Edit: IC2C e-net is almost as slow as 4 buildcraft 256x256 quarries running at full speed, and that's without complex cable networking. (that's about 10 times slower than AE2's tick time with huge networks, 6 times slower than recipe rescan checks in optimized mods, such as Thermal series, Mekanism after recipe cache fix, etc.)
You create a mod for Java game. You create a tech mod which is supposedly going to be abused by players by spamming a lot of stuff over the place, various machines and things. And no, JIT is not magic, code is still have to be executed not natively. You have to confisder that. You are not creating a mod for Factorio which is optimized for cases when you spam
hundreds of thousands of machines and they make no tick lag.

To Simply that. No you are wrong for the reason of "Cost" in the first place.
Yes the numbers game is a thing but you are exactly the type of player why this recipe change was made in the first place.
And to make my warning clear. I am done arguing with you. If you stop right now you are at least able to make bugreports if you find actual bugs. (Like the canning machine)
