I am using your latest version (2.0.4) Tinkers version (1.6.0d40.1) MC Forge version 1207 and i'm getting this crash on start-up

update it to what? I have the latest version that's on curse forge (and what you say is needed for compatibility on your forum post)
Minimum required TConstruct version: 1.6.0d40.1

EDIT: My apologies, I had put the wrong version of Tinkers into my instance! Everything works great now. Apologies.
