When you applied a redstone signal to the Extracting Conveyors to prevent them keep extracting, sometimes the items get stuck on the belt until it despawn, depends of the time of extraction and when the redstone is applied.

Yeah, currently the covery stops moving items as well as extracting them when redstone is applied. I'm still debating changing that functionality.
