Pros:

• Looks better as a workstation for workshop builds (In my opinion)
• Current transformer may have uninsulated wires connected to it and that means danger for dumb villagers. This is easy to avoid if they are out of reach of the villagers but at the same time its a limitation.
• Also you would want many current transformers for its use and not as workstations. Its easier to control the villagers jobs with circuits tables.

Cons:

• Its 2 blocks wide
• A villager may be in the way when using it.
• This change implies changes to village generation

First two cons are the same as the workbench so they are not really that bad.
