Explain your idea

Status messages are far too short lived, specialy if you have a sieve for a brain (like i do) and it's frustrating if you read the message only forget it not even a second later, and/or being distracted and forgetting that way.

Chat messages are persistant. (Unless you clear it)
Which makes it ideal, because you can open chat again incase you forget and refresh your memory as much as you want.

It wouldnt be so bad if you could Re-check already tested points, but as it stands right now you can't even do that.
So you're shit out of luck if you don't even know where to go next and have to randomly decide where to go next, usualy ending up in you going away from the Mineral Vein.

Another possible thing could be to have the Survey Tool display the last checked point on the Item itself.
Either by it having it on display as soon as you hover over it, or by holding shift while doing so.
(Maybe even right next to the name of the Item itself!)
