Mixer has global sound (or at least VERY far) - funky earmuffs

Expected Behavior
The mixer should be heard from a certain distance and change the volume depending on it?
Earmuffs should lower/mute the sound when equipped
Actual Behavior
The mixer is heard on the same dimension from very far
The earmuffs don't work until you disconnect and connect again
Steps to reproduce
turn on the mixer and listen
equip earmuffs and listen
