Explain your idea

Currently, catwalks have a steel ingot to block ratio of ~0.60, while catwalk stairs have a ratio of ~0.91. This feels annoying
This recipe, if creating 4, has a ratio of ~0.56

This recipe, if creating 4, has a ratio of ~0.53

Or it could just be the current recipe, but instead of creating 4, it creates 6. I'd prefer one of the other versions, as since it has an odd amount of slabs or rods, excess rods/slabs can be used
