How did it happen?

I wanted to make a firework cartridge, i got a firework and an empty shell and tried to make it in an applied energistics crafting terminal and it immediately crashed to desktop when I put in the recipe. I relaunched my game, tried the recipe in my inventory and in a crafting bench and neither worked but i didnt crash. I then went to an engineers workbench to try and make it there, and when i put the recipe in my friends server immediately closed, but my game didnt crash.
i then went on to a singleplayer creative world, spawned the firework cartridge and it was fine to use and have
this specific crash happened when i put the recipe in an autocrafter and powered it, immediately to desktop
