I have no idea if this is even something you can add on your end, but I was very sad when I gave a Rat from the Rats Mod(https://modrinth.com/mod/rats) an instrument and it couldn't play like other mobs do when holding one. This may be entirely on the Rats dev's shoulders so sorry for bothering if that is the case.
