Hey there, not sure what the current development status of this mod is, but would it be possible to add support for sound files (in whatever format is easiest, likely OGG) to be played rather than MIDI or ABC? A pain point I imagine is syncing the time and starting the sound file with an offset for multiplayer.
I love the way shanties work in Sea of Thieves and I'm looking for something similar in MC :)

I like the idea, but it's very out of scope for this mod, playing raw audio is very different and does not make sense with instruments all together. I believe there are other mods doing that already, but if not I may consider a separate mod.
