Describe the bug
Hello,
I get some random crashes with railroading items in the creative inventory.

I search as example (the first crash) "wrench" (for your big wrench) and I could not even see the results, so the game crashed.
(with normal MC creative search)
The second crash was with "rail".

I can't give you crash reports from the crash, because Minecraft doesn't created a crash log.
(the crash log below is from F3 + C, so you can see all mods)

How to reproduce
Randomly search for IR items, can take a while

Expected behavior
No crashes with items

Same problem here. Without any other mods installed other than the Immersive Railroading dependencies.

@TheSnowyChickens does it also crash when you type in another name that contains a "c" ?

ohhmmmm, that I don't know.

During searching for other items, I used maybe 6/8 of all letters and only sometimes it crashes.
(maybe it is fixed with your new UMC version, but dk)

Okay, it is not only with words with "c", it can crash with "book" or "disk" too.

A player of the multiplayer project can't rly play now, because it is crashing. :/

I got the same problems here. Searching anything will randomly cause a crash. Searched in the first log for "book" and in the second for "disk" in JEI.

@cam72cam We have the same issue here with any attempt to render the large wrench. Potentially other items as well. This crash follows a large number of File IO errors around failure to find the JSON definition for the same objects. It’s completely reproducible with Universal Core etc current as of 27October 2021, MC 1.16.5.

My boy is heartbroken at being unable to play with trains so if anyone has any known-good combination of mods or a proposed fix I’d love to hear it and get him up and running!

You need to use Java 8.
