Transfer Tables work like turntables, but rather than turning, they slide left to right.

Applications of the suggestion
Transfer tables would really improve compact yards and workshops, clearing large amounts of cluttered switches into a single table. As for how they would be implemented, it would be the same as placing a straight track, but you would select the number of parallel tracks on the table and how many blocks are between each track.
