Blueprints without support exploding

I was setting up a straight blueprint across a river just to have it there for reference while building the bridge. If I right click the blueprint and try to change anything like length or bed material, it explodes. Tested multiple times, still getting the same results. I thought it might be some kind of intentional mechanic I just didn't know about but idk why a blueprint would be supposed to explode.
Update: Another blueprint just exploded and it had blocks under it, but I got some blueprints to work totally fine in other places.
I think I accidentally bound a worldedit brush to my hand and it was going off when I right clicked the blueprint to edit it. I thought of that earlier so I cleared all brushes and was still getting the same error but I think I must have accidentally bound one to my hand and not noticed. That being said, the pattern didn't match any brushes I use. But that's the only thing I can think of at this point so I'm just going to close this hope that that was my issue.
