Steam pressure sound continues playing while paused

In single player, if you pause the game while near a steam loco that is making that hissing (steam pressure) sound, the sound will continue playing. In other words, opening the escape menu while in single player does not stop the steam sound like other sounds. I haven't tried with diesels to see if their sounds are also affected.
I searched for the issue but I couldn't find it here. Apologies if this is a duplicate. I'm using IR 1.3.1, MC 1.12.2, Forge 14.23.4.2705.
