Does this suggestion already exist?

  • Yes, i have searched for already existing suggestions and found none.

Feature Explanation

Can I port to (neo)forge 1.20.1 and release it on the mod platform, or use it in my modpack? I've made a version and it works, please!

I'm also in favor of a 3rd-party port or, preferably, the mod being updated. My friends and I are hopping over to 1.20.1 and I LOVE this mod for making power poles throughout our towns. :)

Since when is not an answer a "yes"?

I do not want to see this kinda shit with pre-compiled jars here

That is in direct violation of the license

Please update to NeoForge 1.21.1

Hearing about someone already making a ported version of this mod more quickly than the mod author's own motivation and/or interest raises many concerns for me. There's a skill capacity to get it done, sure, but the staunch pushback to someone essentially doing it for you is honestly unappealing.

Maybe the functionality of the private mod still has some bugs (I would prefer an official public port anyway)... but this mod is not even remotely close to Immersive Petroleum, as far as coding demands go. Project hasn't had an update released in almost two years and would certainly garner more attention for the mod, as Immersive Engineering continues to receive incredible updates on NeoForge as other classic tech mods like Railcraft and Buildcraft get revamped for the new era of modding. IE's most popular addons are seldom appearing in newer versions, and this mod is one of them that deserves a port. Why so much hesitation in tackling the project? If anything, just let someone contribute the code necessary, apply changes as the official mod author as seen fit, and release the updated mod. Easier said than done, but if it's already been done, then do something about it.

Port requests are the bane of every mod in existence--forward or back--but a lot of it comes from people who can't code for their lives. The people who can should be recognized for even trying, no matter how difficult the task is.

I agree. I recognize @TwistedGate's work but I am disappointed to see such a negative response. I expect more collaboration in the modding community than that.
