The plant gatherer works fine. The plant fertilizer works as well, I assume, if not, randomTickspeed is fine with me. The plant sower has spruce saplings in it's inventory, constantly makes the planting sound, but no saplings are placed.

It shouldn't be protected. Do you know of anything off the top of your head that might be doing that? My bed is right next to it, but that shouldn't be a problem. I am thousands of blocks away from spawn.
