Description:

• Sulfur crystals can generate on the sides of the quartz crystal blocks (byg:quartz_crystal) added by Oh, the Biomes You'll Go in its quartz desert biome (byg:quartz_desert). This looks visually strange.
  This may be symptomatic of either BYG's crystals having some erroneous property that lets sulfur crystals generate on them, or a greater oversight in the sulfur crystal generation that would affect other things as well.

Steps to Reproduce:

• Start All of Fabric 3 with the below listed added/upgraded mods.
• Enter the Nether in a new world, and run /locatebiome byg:quartz_desert
• Look around until you find a crystal growth like the one in the picture below. They may only occur near biome borders.

We also spotted them on the sides of this Better Nether stalagmite, the blocks of which are similar non-full blocks.

Encountered the above with the stalagmites multiple times. Also, here is one that generated on a vanilla blackstone wall, which generated as part of a Repurposed Structures structure, likely indicative of this issue affecting a wide range of blocks:
