Basically I think all textures and I mean machines, armors, tools, items n such should receive modernized design improvement, that is make them match modern mods, versions n such, a lot of mods do that to say "stay fresh" with community, or to attract more ppl with their cool looking stuff, for example tech reborn did that and it's till today one of (if not the) best tech mods for fabric, I think that change would be really beneficial for this project as well, given current design of most blocks and modular set are well old looking, fitting mods from 1.7 - 1.12 era of modding, but even those mods (like thermal series) somehow despite the rather old look managed to stay close to original design while becoming more fresh, AE2 is another example, modernized the design of bunch of stuff but still stayed loyal to original artwork, so in conclusion I would say improving the mod from design size is as important as improving it from technical sized, ppl purchase products with their eyes first after all.
