Everytime I try to connect wires it says, "cannot connect this wire here". I've tried all the cables. Is there something I'm missing? I already use I.E and IC2 and ant i already have working circuitry.

I think this is a bug in IE, however you don't say which cabled don't connect to where. If it is a controller then you have to shift click the wire.

It would be nicer to shift click to select the controller as this is done less often.

Did this happen on a dedicated server or in a singleplayer world? If it happened on a server it's probably fixed for the next release, if it happened in singleplayer I have no idea what caused it.

Single player game. In the issue FerroO2000/Immersive-Tech#67 the version of Immersive Tech on google drive fixes the connection problem to both redstone connectors and industrial wires controller not working after the chunks are reloaded. BluSunrize/ImmersiveEngineering#3204 is also related to this.
