Short description:

It would be super useful if you could insert a single variable card into an importer/exporter by simply shift + right-clicking the importer/exporter whilst holding one or more variable cards. It would drop into the first slot that accepts the type.
E.g. shift + right-clicking an Energy Exporter with a stack of unset variable cards would drop them into the Export Energy slot; shift + right-clicking an Item Exporter with an Item card would drop it into the Export Item slot; etc.

It would really make enabling something like this a lot easier:
