Short description:

Non-filtered crafting, energy, and fluid interfaces might want them.
Static and dynamic light panels could make a ghost light
Display panels could make floating text (also scaling)
Mono-directional connectors (could be an interesting form of network switching)
These could all use offsets potentially.
