Balance of recipes

Issue type:
- ➕ Feature request
Short description:
ID is easy enough to start in contrast with other similar mods. But there are still some points where receipts require too much resources.
At the start of the game one of the most the annoying things is need to build bunch of chests to sort resources. Simple storage system with Storage Terminal from ID is the best solution, but the problem is it a bit too late to get (so annoying period is longer). The goal of this feature is to get this simple system on first base before Nether exploring.
- The first problem is Slime. Without some mods you can spent very long time to find swamp biome. So my suggestion is make
Starch Glue as alternative to make Sticky Piston. Full receipt:
Potato -> Squeezer/Mechanical Squeezer -> Liquid Starch -> Drying Basin/Mechanical Drying Basin -> Starch Glue Ball
Starch Glue Ball + Piston = Sticky Piston
- The second problem is Glowstone Dust, you cannot get Storage Terminal without Nether exploring. But you already have Menril Stone Torch to shine!
So my suggestion is replace 4 Glowstone Dust with 4 Menril Stone Torch in the receipt of Storage Terminal.
And some additional things.
-
Receipt of cable: replace 3 cables result to 12 cables. This will allow build a bigger and beautiful base on start of the game with longer connection wires without worry about redstone spending.

World importer/exporter requires diamond and ender pearls for Logic Director but does not do something special like teleporting of matter. So it should not use Logic Director. Other similar mods do not use such nasty prizes to just drop/pick items. Could you please please please :) replace Logic Director in world importer/exporter ?
Specifically I suggest receipts:
With iron shovel for World Item Importer/Exporter.
With iron pickaxe for World Block Importer/Exporter.
Keep Player Simulator as is or replace Emerald with Diamond.
- To create the omni-directional connector you need 6 crystallized chorus chunks. Sometimes (often enough) this requires 16 ender pearls to get them. It's really too much. Yes, Portable Terminal may be overpowered a bit, but 16 pearls is a really huge problem. I suggest to change receipt of omni-directional connector to use only 2 crystallized chorus chunks for starter version with limited distance of work and use chunks on it to upgrade range. Like this:
Starter version: 64 blocks range.
Use +1 crystallized chorus chunk on connector: 256 blocks range
Use +2 crystallized chorus chunk on connector: 1024 blocks range
Use +3 crystallized chorus chunk on connector: any distance in the same dimension
Use +4 crystallized chorus chunk on connector: any distance in any dimension
I really like your 1st suggestion! It provides an alternative approach to getting something, similar to the proto chorus versus popped chorus fruit. Making it easier without changing anything.
Your other suggestions make changes to existing recipes, and while I can see your argument, I think they may need further thinking. The torches make not much sense to use in a recipe like that, the 12 cables is a bit much for free, the world importer/exporter definitely do some teleporting for pickup and the dynamic range of the omni connector would be a really significant overhaul for the block's mechanics for only limiting the existing functionality, which is not a good reason for change.
I asked mostly about recipes changes, because if ask too more you'll get nothing. Or get late.
I'm fan of ID and wish ID to be a winner in the competition with RS2/AE2. And I know the balance is a critical thing for big percent of gamers. Currently balance is strong side of ID, so polishing can make it even stronger and shine.
Neither vanilla Hopper nor Dropper/Dispenser contain ender tech. So importer/exporter should not either. Also similar RS2 elements doesn't contain diamonds/pearls. So, they're crying to be changed ;)
Omni-connector changes can make things for the same cost, but smoother and balanced. First time you need something to convenient build base (64 blocks range), to explore Overworld (256-1024-infinite distance) and finally go to Nether.
Or (as variant) 1-2 upgrades for Overworld, 3rd for Nether and 4th for End (and other dimensions).
Also (as other variant) some rare Overworld materials to extend range in the Overworld, Nether's materials for Nether and something like chorus flower for End.
Also (as variant more) Ender Pearl + any arbitrary sample material from other dimension to omni-connect to that dimension.
